Intensive Improvisation Course leading to West End Performance
ESCAPE STORIES
Led by Chris Johnston
Running over two weekends and several evenings, this is a fantastic opportunity for actors and others to experience an improvisation process leading to improvised performance. Using a process developed by Fluxx over several years, Chris Johnston will lead the ensemble into developing characters, relationships and storylines. These will culminate in two performances, the first at Oxford House in Bethnal Green, and the second at the Soho Theatre in the West End. The performances offer an ideal showcase opportunity. Chris Johnston is the director of Fluxx, author of The Improvisation Game and recently worked with the RSC on Much Ado About Nothing and Romeo and Juliet.
‘If you are looking to improve yourself as a performer, writer or theatre practitioner then I recommend Fluxx and Chris Johnston. You can only grow as an artist by practising improvisation and Chris provides a secure yet challenging environment to do so. You learn not to think - which is the killer of creativity. You learn to be spontaneous and free. In fact, what Chris is doing is teaching techniques to unlock spontaneous creativity - which is essential for whatever you do, was actor, sportsman or businessman.’ Marcus Markou, Founder of
